Elite women's rugby programme for university students

Elite women's rugby programme for university students (1)

Hartpury is building on the success of its college women's rugby programme by offering university students the chance to continue their playing development whilst studying for a degree.

Starting from September 2014, the programme becomes the latest addition to the elite talent development programmes under the Hartpury Sport wing.

It will be overseen by former RFU professional, Peter Cook, who has experience playing for Harlequins, Leicester and the Cornish Pirates. The programme is designed to support, nurture and educate players in all aspects of being an elite athlete alongside their university studies.

Hartpury's current women's rugby programme, which caters for 16-19 year olds, has seen more than twenty players go on to receive England U20 caps, as well as three who have full international appearances for the England senior side at 15 and 7-a-side.
