FA Cup Dreams alive for Symons

FA Cup Dreams alive for Symons

Hartpury’s Michael Symons’ FA Cup dreams are still very much alive, after his Worcester City side forced a second round replay against League One Scunthorpe United.

Symons, a former student who now teaches on the Football Diploma programme at Hartpury, started for the Conference North outfit at Glanford Park as they secured a 1-1 draw, and the team have now got a second chance of making it to the third round of the prestigious cup, where a home tie against League One Chesterfield awaits.

The replay against Scunthorpe is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17th and the game will be televised on BT Sport as Symons and his Worcester team-mates look to add another giant scalp to their collection.

Another Hartpury representative has made it through to the third round in the form of ex-student James Pearson.

Pearson, on loan at Wrexham from Premier League side Leicester City, helped the Conference Premier team to a 3-1 victory over Maidstone United and the Welsh side will take on Premier League opposition, after being drawn against former Wales manager Mark Hughes’ Stoke City.
