Hark the Hartpury angels sing! Primary pupils sing loud and proud to put college in the Christmas spirit

There was festive cheer in abundance yesterday (December 9th) as the Hartpury Church of England Primary School choir sung their hearts out to Hartpury staff and students at a special Christmas Carol Service.

The children entertained everyone assembled in Hartpury's student restaurant, Graze, with some beautiful and enthusiastic singing to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.

While the school choir were in strong voice with their three songs, the congregation also joined in with the children for four traditional Christmas carols.

While Hartpury College chaplain, Phil Metcalf, led the welcome and the closing prayer, there were also readings by Hartpury Students' Union Vice-president, Gurpawan Khalsa, student Zakobi Wall, Kirsten Wing - president of the Christian Union, and Hartpury's Director of HR and Residential Services, Lesley Worsfold.

Phil said: "The choir from Hartpury Primary were just fabulous and everyone who joined us for the service thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment.

"I was especially impressed with the soloists, some of whom were very little! They were very brave and sang beautifully. It was a fantastic way to celebrate Advent as the students prepare to head into their Christmas break."

After a collection for the Teens in Crisis charity, the congregation and the choir and staff from Hartpury Primary enjoyed refreshments, including the obligatory mince pies!
