Hartpury face Filton searching for back to back wins

Hartpury face Filton searching for back to back wins

Hartpury’s Under-18s women’s rugby side are looking to make it back to back victories as local rivals Filton visit the college on Wednesday 16th December, 2015 (kick-off 1pm).

LJ Adams’ side will be looking to build on an impressive season opener against Cardiff Quins girls Under-18s, scoring ten times as they won 60-14. While Filton come into the game on the back of a big win over Bicton College.

Adams is currently without a handful of players through injury but expects to start another strong side on Wednesday as the two face off on Hartpury’ 4G rubber crumb pitch. Fly-half Holly Aitchison, centre Charlotte Faux, loose head Hannah Botterman and Captain Tazmin Bricknall will all miss the game.

“Both us and Filton are coming into this fixture on the back of big wins and it should be a really interesting game relatively early on in our season,” Adams said.

“This is only our second game since I’ve taken charge of the team so I’m looking forward to getting another chance to see the girls in a competitive situation and hopefully learn a bit more about what stage we’re at.”

Annouska Gregavich, in the absence of Faux, Aitchison and Botterman, will all be looking to add to her tally after all four scored twice as Hartpury ran out winners against Cardiff Quins early in November. Bianca Coltellini and Tazmin Bricknall rounded off the scoring as Hartpury ran away with a game played in three twenty minute thirds.

The team were due to play in a tournament at Filton School towards the end of November but the event was cancelled.
