Weekly student sports round up

Hartpury’s junior football team continued their good run in the ECFA Premier Cup with a convincing 2-0 win over Coleg Menai’s first team.

The victory is the team’s third on the trot in the competition as they look to claim yet more silverware this season following their ECFA National Championship Play Off Final victory last year.

With only a handful of fixtures this week there were also wins for the BUCS 2nd XV in the Premier South B and the junior netball 2nd team in the AoC National Plate.

The BUCS result saw our second team overpower Bath’s second string side with a 36-7 away victory while the netballers proceeded to round two of their cup competition with a 38-26 victory over Bridgewater College’s first team.

In other results, the junior netball first team lost out to Exeter College in the AoC National Cup as their Devonshire counterparts recorded a 41-32 home win. The junior football second team were also narrowly beaten as Strachan Football Foundation won 2-1 in the ECFA Premier Cup.
