Hartpury all set for School Games

Hundreds of primary and secondary school children will descend on Hartpury today and tomorrow as the college hosts the School Games.

The event, run by Active Gloucestershire, will be held at the college for the third consecutive year and will see students taking part in a variety of sporting activities from mountain biking and archery to softball and rowing.

Students from the college will be helping across the two days as games makers during the competition, which begins on Friday and runs through to the end of Saturday.

The Gloucestershire School Games is part of a national programme of competitive sport that is open to all young people in every school from all districts of Gloucestershire. It is a celebration of competitive sport that involves young people aged five to 18 years of all abilities and backgrounds.
Delivered locally by Active Gloucestershire, the Gloucestershire School Games provides schools the chance to boost their existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.
