Unbeaten Hartpury Futsal march into FA Cup final

Hartpury’s Women’s Futsal team marched onwards in the FA Cup, booking their spot in the final stage as they continued their remarkable unbeaten run.

The team will now go looking for FA Cup glory at The Copper Box Arena in London, on Saturday, June 14th.

The squad, led by Hartpury’s Sport Coaching Lecturer, Brazilian Luciana De Martin Silva, progressed in style by winning all three of their group games, scoring 10 goals and conceding only once.

They then saw off Eastbourne 3-1 to gain top seed status for the final stage of the competition, and stretch their unbeaten season to a remarkable 14 games. The four top South teams will be joined by the four best teams from the North in the finals.

The team began their campaign in January and since defeating Cheltenham Town 9-1 in their first game, they have never looked back.

Luciana said: “To win all of our games at this stage in the competition is fantastic, and I am extremely proud of the squad

“We know that the final stage will be tough and our aim is to maintain our high standard and get as far as we can in the competition.”
