You get more from your degree at Hartpury

Hartpury students get more value from their university degrees than any others in England and are given the best possible chance of getting their dream job.

The University of the West of the England – which awards Hartpury degrees and postgraduate qualifications – has come top in England for ‘added value’ in the Guardian University Guide. It has also jumped 15 places to make the top 50 UK universities for the first time.

The ‘added value’ accolade and leap up the table is largely thanks to strong employment figures for Hartpury and UWE Bristol graduates, with more than 94% of UWE graduates in work or further education six months after graduating. Student satisfaction rates have also improved.

John Deane, Vice Principal for Higher Education at Hartpury, said: “We’re extremely proud of the support we provide to our students here at Hartpury to put them on the right path to their dream career.

“Nearly all of our university programmes offer opportunities for work experience, with many having the option of a sandwich year in the industry. Our partnerships with local businesses, schools and voluntary and community organisations are outstanding across all areas, and we work closely with them to develop graduates who are relevant to industry and can help drive it forward.

“The specialist contacts our staff have nurtured over many years are also invaluable to students, whether that’s setting up work placements with professional sports clubs or top Equine yards at home or abroad or with local animal welfare and wildlife organisations.

“Our students also benefit from the best university careers service in the UK, with UWE having won the National Undergraduate Employability Award this year. With such strong graduate employability rates, our students know that they are getting the best possible value from their degree."
