Hartpury's Millie Wood hails amazing England Sevens experience

Hartpury women's rugby player, Millie Wood, described playing in France with the England Sevens teams as an 'amazing experience.'

The A Level student travelled to the Green Isle Sports Centre, Soustons in Northern France to play in a tournament against Holland, Germany, Tunisia, Ireland, France and France Universities.

Millie's England side negotiated the group stages with comfortable wins over France Universities, Germany and Holland, racking up 81 points without reply in the three games after 21-0, 28-0 and 38-0 wins respectively.

Despite a 28-17 loss to a strong French side in the final, Millie was pleased with her contribution.

"It was an amazing experience to play in an England shirt," she said. "I've learnt so much from all the training. On the pitch I didn't feel out of place and I feel I made a positive impact, hitting all my tackles and making successful breaks on the ball."
