Students compete in business start-up challenge

Students compete in business start-up challenge

A Hartpury team of degree students have placed an impressive third in the recent New Shoots Challenge organised by the Royal Agricultural University.

The challenge is designed to test students’ business ideas, knowledge and strategy in creating a virtual business using SimVenture. Each team has help and support from an industry mentor, and then teams have to pitch their business to a judging panel. The competition attracts students wanting to enter both start-up and established food supply industry businesses.

Agriculture Business students Emilie Rowe and Rebecca Meredith, and Sports Business student Jeremy Bingham managed to take 3rd place overall with a profit of £61,000.
