Hartpury results round-up

It has been a great sporting week for Hartpury with the football, rugby and netball squads all clinching solid victories.

The Under-18s elite football team defeated South Gloucestershire and Stroud College first team 4-2 away from home in the ESFA Under-18s Cup on Monday while the BUCS elite footballers hosted Exeter firsts on Wednesday in BUCS Premier South and won 4-0 (pictured).

The BUCS 3rd XI football team won 6-3 at Exeter seconds in the BUCS Western Conference Cup, while the Under-19s thirds played Cirencester’s second team at home in the ECFA Cup and won 3-1.

In the rugby, Hartpury clinched an impressive 45-12 win in Wales, beating Swansea’s first team in the BUCS Premier South A League.

The Under-18s had a similarly emphatic win, coming out 36-0 winners in their home AASE League game. You can see the full report here.

The BUCS second team lost 30-12 away to USW Pontypridd and Cardiff first team in the BUCS Premier South B League.
Hartpury Under-18s Acorns recreational team won 27-10 in their friendly at Bridgwater College firsts.

There was a fantastic result for the Junior Academy netball team as they won the AoC Regional Championships to qualify for National Championships at Bath University on March 27th to 29th, 2015. A report will follow.

Sports Round-up 02.12.16

There were some mixed fortunes this week, with a shock result for Hartpury’s top rugby players, as well as some commendable performances including a massive victory for the women’s rugby stars and good efforts from two non-academy sporting teams on their first major outing of the season.

Hartpury’s junior football manager Paul Tassell was named 2016’s Sports Champion at the Believe in Gloucester Awards last night after more than a decade of continued success at the college.

This week our golfers took part in a nail-biting playoff, the home crowd were treated to an all-Hartpury rugby match and our junior footballers posted some impressive scores.

Hartpury’s kayak king Sandy ready to make hay on the wild water after dad’s unusual tribute!

Hartpury student Sandy Fotheringham will be hoping to put in a statuesque performance for his dad at next year’s Wild Water Canoe World Championships after the proud father built a 15-foot hay bale replica of him so he can continue making waves in his sport!
