Hartpury staff to be given more support to spearhead sector-leading research

Hartpury staff to be given more support to spearhead sector-leading research

Budding researchers at Hartpury will be given even more support to enhance their expertise and make their mark in their chosen field as part of a Higher Education Academy (HEA) programme.

Hartpury University Centre and Human Resources team have successfully bid to be part of the HEA Universities HR Strategic Enhancement Programme 2015-16.

Associate Dean Teaching, Learning and Scholarship at Hartpury, Dr Christopher Potter, said: “We’re very proud of Hartpury’s far-reaching reputation for groundbreaking research across all subject areas and for our success in developing our staff.

“Being part of this programme will enable Hartpury to better support staff to develop their research skills, particularly those that are less experienced, which will benefit our students’ learning and help them progress in their academic careers.

“It will give them access to the extensive and varied expertise within the HEA and the chance to collaborate with researchers from other universities. It would also help us achieve our ultimate ambition of developing a research mentorship programme.”

Hartpury’s success in developing its staff was recognised by the Quality Assurance Agency in their 2014 review, which identified seven areas of good practice.

More than 70% of academic staff have already achieved HEA Fellow or Senior Fellow status and 60% of staff are active researchers.
