Friday 9th December
Class 1 - Andrews Bowen Ltd Open Handicap
The first day of this wonderful three day extravaganza – ‘Jumping with the Stars’ got off to a flying start this afternoon with the Andrews Bowen Ltd Open Handicap.
Andrews Bowen Ltd. design and install a comprehensive range of riding surfaces for arenas, competition and racing establishments. These surfaces are used for many championship events including FEI and Olympic disciplines.
1st Reece Oliver riding Chablis Deux Z, 2nd Robert Whitaker riding Taloubet, 3rd Emma Slater riding Ruxton Aim High.
Class 2 – Horsatack Saddlery Ltd Small Tour 1st Leg
This class attracted 80 entries and was sponsored by Horsatack - a unique new chain of equestrian stores based at Milton Keynes and Droitwich. Winners of the £500 first prize was Paul Crago riding Dawn Cooley’s Valentina IX, 2nd Keith Doyle and Just Jasper VI, 3rd Daniel Neilson and Walanda IV.
Class 3 – Barnsby Saddlery Big Tour 1st leg
We had 41 starters in this class sponsored by Barnsby Saddlery – it would be difficult, if not impossible to find a saddlery company with more knowledge and experience. Based in Walsall Barnsby have been making top quality saddles and bridles for over 200 years!
1st Shane Breen riding Kec Alicante, 2nd Trevor Breen riding Adventure De Kannan, 3rd Richard Barton riding Beach Boy.
Class 4 - Superflex Small Tour Grand Prix
It was a very early start this morning with the first horse in the arena at 8.02 am! for the Superflex Small Tour Grand Prix generously sponsored by NAF.
NAF is one of the most innovative equine supplement manufacturers in the world, with over twenty five years’ experience as brand leader in the Equestrian Supplement market.
NAF are the Official Suppliers to the British Equestrian Teams, which enables riders from all British Team disciplines to use NAF products, under the direction of their Team vets to support the health and fitness of their team horses.
The £1,000 first prize went to Carian Scudamore riding Nigel Scudamore’s Angel III, 2nd Samuel Hutton riding For a Smile, Samuel also took 3rd place riding Valentino VII.
The prizes were presented by Tracey Lloyd, PR and Advertising Manager of NAF.
Class 5 – Dodson & Horrell Big Tour Grand Prix
Dodson & Horrell has grown to become a respected authority on animal nutrition and Europe’s leading horse feed manufacturer.
From the 39 starters 12 jumped clear to go into the jump off. Five jumped clear to go against the clock.
1st prize of £2,000 went to Peter Charles riding Olga White’s Murka’s Nevada, 2nd Tina Fletcher riding Hello Boyo, 3rd Simon Crippen riding Ondine Du Logis. Tina Fletcher also took 4th place on Hello Unique and 5th place on Ursula XII.
The prizes were presented by Rachael Sainsbury and Phillipa Gilmore from Dodson & Horrell.
Class 6 – Southwick Farm Amateur Tour Handicap
Southwick Farm, suppliers of the hay and straw to Hartpury College, very kindly sponsored this class.
1st Elizabeth Winter riding Ballintrane Donatello, 2nd Emily Brown riding Maggie Mae X,
3rd Zoe Henshall riding Warno.
The prizes were presented by the senior BSJA judge Diane Pimblett
Class 7 – Cushionbed Amateur A Tour 1st Leg
Cushionbed is a unique equine bedding system - using a blend of recycled soft and hard naturally seasoned wood fibres.
1st Melissa Lapworth riding Louis Latour, 2nd Eric Winter riding Rembrandt III, 3rd Rachel Gallop riding Summerhouse Zidonja.
This was a great day for Elizabeth and Eric Winter from Chepstow- Elizabeth taking the honours in Class 6 and then Eric, who is course designer for Hartpury Horse Trials, finishing in second place in this class.
Class 8 – Henley & Barr Ltd Amateur B Tour 1st Leg
Henley & Barr - with over 20 year’s involvement in the equestrian world they stock high quality equestrian wear many of which are designed and manufactured in the UK.
1st Stefan Magensen riding Top Limit, 2nd Zoe Henshall riding Warno, 3rd Rachel Davies riding Don’t Touch.
Sunday, 11th December
Class 9 FAB Horses Open Warm Up
It was a 9 am start for this class which had 28 starters kindly sponsored by Fab Horses – who provides expertise and impartial advice for negotiating and purchasing German Sports Horses.
1st Georgina Spence riding Dressed To Impress, 2nd Anneli Lewis riding Llanigon Storm, 3rd Rachel Davies riding Don’t Touch.
The prizes were presented by Fabian Rammenzweig, Senior Consultant for Fab Horses.
Class 10 – Equimat Amateur a Tour Grand Prix
This Grand Prix, kindly sponsored by Equimat – producers of high quality rubber, stable wall and trailer matting.Class 11 – The Holiday Inn Amateur B tour Grand Prix
Holiday Inn, is part of the InterContinental Hotel Group and will be the Official Hotel Provider to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The 20 competitors jumped in reverse order of placing from class 8. The seven clear rounds went against the clock 1st Stefan Mogensen riding Top Limit in a time of 38.62, 2nd Anne Nelson riding Billy Corron, 39 01, 3rd Claire Read riding Point Break II, 45.67.
