Men's Elite Football Programme

MSc IN COACHING SCIENCE / MSc STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING STUDENTSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Hartpury College are offering talented football players or coaches the chance to play or work within the Men’s Elite Football programme for the upcoming 2016/17 and 2017/18 academic years. Hartpury are renowned for helping students progress into professional football from either a playing or support service perspective and so provides an ideal setting in which to combine playing or coaching football at the very highest level of university sport whilst furthering your professional development.

The Football Studentship offers part-funded places on the college’s MSc Coaching Science or MSc Strength and Conditioning degree to enable suitable candidates to combine both working and/or playing within the elite football programme with postgraduate study. Studentship responsibilities will be negotiated with the football academy staff but may include team management, sport science support assistance and contributions to teaching within undergraduate degree sport practical modules. 

The successful candidates would be required to start in September 2016.

Potential Studentship responsibilities include the following:

  • Fulfilling a key role in playing or coaching and sport science support.
  • Completing postgraduate projects which combine MSc study with work-based responsibilities in the football department programme.
  • Contributing to the planning, delivery and review of specific HE Sport department undergraduate modules.
  • Leading training sessions and fulfilling managerial duties within the football teams.
  • Assisting the football programme’s support services including performance analysis, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, nutrition, psychology and performance lifestyle.
