Golf Coach Development Programme

MSc IN COACHING SCIENCE / MSc STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING STUDENTSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Hartpury College are offering ambitious golf coaches the opportunity to coach and work within their Elite Golf Development programme. Hartpury College offers students (16-18 years) the opportunity to progress both academic studies (BTEC, A level) and golf through the provision of first class educational support and high performance golf coaching. We are looking ideally for a PGA Qualified Coach (or dedicated third year students) with ambitions of coaching and managing players at the highest level. This role will provide opportunity to coach holistically and specialise within the sport sciences if desired. Hartpury provides an ideal setting in which to develop coaching practice within an elite programme whilst furthering professional development.

The Golf Coaching Studentship offers part-funded places on the college’s MSc Coaching Science or MSc Strength and Conditioning degree to enable suitable candidates to combine working and coaching within the elite golf programme with postgraduate study. Studentship responsibilities will be negotiated with the Golf Academy Manager but may include team management, coaching, sport science support assistance and contributions to teaching within undergraduate degree sport practical modules. This is an excellent opportunity to develop both coaching and work based skills within the competitive coaching industry.

Potential Studentship responsibilities include the following:

  • Fulfilling a key role in coaching and sport science support.
  • Completing postgraduate projects which combine MSc study with work-based responsibilities in the golf programme.
  • Contributing to the planning, delivery and review of specific HE Sport department undergraduate modules.
  • Leading coaching sessions and fulfilling managerial duties within the elite golf teams.
  • Assisting the golf programme’s support services including performance analysis, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, nutrition, psychology and performance lifestyle.
