Hartpury already has an outstanding reputation for its talent production line and now a new multi-sports academy is providing dedicated performance services to elite performers across a range of sports not covered by our current academies to give them the best chance of success.
With our students having performed at the highest level in athletics, swimming and even white water racing, skiing, wrestling and ice hockey, the new multi-sports academy will support talented young sportsmen and women like them to fulfil their potential, supported by our exceptional partnerships with clubs, governing bodies and schools and universities.
We’re skilled at helping elite athletes to combine their study and sport, supporting them to be the best they can be on and off the field. We can help athletes to find the optimal balance to achieve sporting and academic excellence and open doors to a career beyond your sport.
The range of support available to our multi-sports academy athletes can include physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, sports psychology and nutrition and performance lifestyle advice. It’s as close as it gets to studying in a professional sport environment.
The multi-sports academy is open to top sports performers studying at both college and University Centre level and you don’t need to be studying a sports programme to apply. Take Tokyo Olympics 2020 prospect, Mollie Courtney, for example, a BTEC Diploma Animal Management student at Hartpury who qualified to race for the Great Britain team at the World Junior Championships in the 100 metres hurdles. We offer a range of courses across sport, animal, equine, agriculture, outdoor adventure and Uniformed Public Services, from Diplomas and A Levels to degrees and postgraduate study.
