The Hartpury sport team have the perfect skillset and industry-specific expertise to ensure that you improve as an athlete during your time with us.
Each individual sport has a select group of staff designed to improve you as an athlete, including your head coach, strength and conditioning coach, rehabilitation staff as well as human performance, sports pyschology, lifestyle management and nutrition experts.

Tom leads on our elite football, golf, netball and rowing programmes and also acts as Director of Football at Hartpury.
John is a former Clifton Rugby player who also enjoyed spells playing professionally in Italy and with Henley Hawks. Prior to joining Hartpury in 2011 he was Academy Coach with Bristol Rugby.
Mark joined Hartpury after serving as Gloucester Rugby Academy Manager. He is a famous rugby figure in the county having played 200 games for Gloucester
A Hartpury graduate and someone who knows Hartpury Sport inside out, Marc is a former Cheltenham Town professional and previously ran our senior football programme, until stepping up to the role as Deputy Director of Elite Sport.
Paul is another coach who knows Hartpury Football inside out after also spending a very successful time playing and studying at Hartpury College. He was part of the back to back British University Championship winning sides in 2007 & 2008.
Tom is a UKCC Level 3 qualified rowing coach with extensive experience who has overseen the Hartpury 'Start' programme since it's inception in 2010.
Owen is a UKSCA and NSCA accredited Strength and Conditioning coach with previous experience of working at Gloucester Rugby as an S&C coach.
Ruth is Hartpury College’s Performance Lifestyle Manager. Ruth has been in post since October 2013 and looks after the elite student athletes at the college, helping them to maintain a healthy balance between sport, education and personal life.
Richard is Hartpury Sport’s Sport Psychologist. He works with our elite athletes to improve and develop the mental aspects of sports performance.
Tom specialises in rehabilitation and strength and conditioning. Prior to joining Hartpury, Tom had worked with Bristol and Exeter Chiefs rugby clubs as well as in the USA at Georgia State and Denver University.
LJ is a UKCC level 3 Rugby Coaching with a vast experience in coaching men and women. She played for 10 years at Loughborough RFC before focusing on her coaching.
