FdSc Sport Performance

Two years full-time (Part-time options available)

This Foundation degree provides students with excellent preparation for pursuing a career within the sports industry or continuing with further study. The development of day one ready practical vocational skills, leadership, management and reflective analysis will be a core focus of your studies.

When teamed with modules in sports science and coaching, this programme will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to work within sports related-industries - whether it is on a local, regional, national or international scale.

This Sport Performance course has been designed through extensive collaboration between Hartpury’s Sport department and industry professionals, making the course unique to Hartpury and ensuring that the skills you learn are relevant to employers’ needs and cater for current demands within the industry.

Sports Performance students have access to our wide range of excellent sporting facilities including our human performance laboratory, Sports Academy, sports rehabilitation suite, rubber crumb pitches, power and cardiovascular gyms, numerous sports pitches, tennis courts and a nine-hole golf course. These facilities will enhance both your academic and practical experience.

Entry Requirements

GCSE | A minimum of 5 GCSE A* to C, (or 9 to 4 where numeric grades are being awarded), including English Language and Mathematics

A Level | Typical offer is CC or equivalent. This must include a minimum of one A Level preferably in a Biological Science, Sports Studies or PE subject (excluding General Studies)

Level 3 Extended Diploma subjects/grades | Typical offer is a MPP in an Extended Diploma or equivalent in a relevant subject

We welcome students with equivalent qualifications, including Access and the International Baccalaureate. Contact the admissions team to discuss.

We may interview mature applicants and those with non-traditional qualifications.

Previous learning towards a university-level qualification or relevant work experience may count as credit for this course. Please contact our admissions team.
