BSc (Hons) Equine Management (top-up)

Benefit from world-class facilities and world-class expertise. Learn from lecturers who are specialists in their subject areas. Gain industry experience at our international equine events.

One year full-time (Part-time options available)

The Equine Management top-up is very flexible in delivery, and can be completed part-time or full-time, making it a great option for those already working in industry. It provides an opportunity for students who have just completed a Foundation degree or HND to top up to a full Honours degree, but also enables graduates who gained employment following completion of a Foundation Degree or HND to gain an additional qualification which could help them progress further in their careers. We also welcome applications from people who have been immersed in the industry and wish to gain a qualification to complement their practical skills (acceptance subject to a short interview).

The programme includes a mixture of business and science modules, as well as a dissertation, giving students the opportunity to pursue their own interests and develop their own research. Students who have not previous studied research processes and statistics will also be required to complete a module on these topics in the first semester to support successful completion of their dissertation.

Topics you could study on this top-up degree include Behaviour, Nutrition, Business Management, Ethics and Welfare and Performance.

You will benefit from access to our Animal Science Laboratories as well as Hartpury’s own commercial yard, Equine Therapy Centre and Rider Performance Centre. We’ll also support you to secure exciting work experience placements that could open the door to your dream career, or you’ll have the option to continue on to postgraduate study, including the MSc Equine Science or the Masters by Research (Equestrian Performance).
