ANIMAL MANAGEMENT CENTRE

The centre features a vivarium with a wide range of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. These include new poison dart frogs, iguanas, bearded dragons and a range of snakes, including corn snakes that we have hatched ourselves. There’s also a fully stocked aquatics room with a diverse assortment of tropical and coldwater fish, including piranha! These species provide opportunities for our students to carry out behavioural observations and gain a deeper insight into animal husbandry and management, including nutrition and enrichment to improve welfare, and are the focus of research and dissertation projects.
