Hartpury University and Hartpury College are among the UK’s leading specialist education providers in agriculture, animal, equine, sport and veterinary nursing.

Located in Gloucestershire, our 360-hectare campus is home to more than 3,600 university and college-level students studying degrees, A-levels and diplomas, as well as undertaking industry research.

We’re investing in the future of our staff and students. Over the past 20 years, we’ve spent more than £50million on our state-of-the-art campus facilities, including:

  • the world’s largest equine educational facility with a water treadmill and Racewood event simulator, which hosts three international equine events each year
  • cutting-edge sports facilities complete with a power gym, pitches and a stadium
  • an extensive animal collection and animal therapy centre
  • a commercial farm and dairy unit supplying major retailers
  • fully equipped science laboratories with the equipment
  • an Agri Tech Centre for the latest agricultural technology (coming in September 2019)

Hartpury University offers Gold-standard teaching 

We have 1,800 students completing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as higher education diplomas and postgraduate research degrees at Hartpury University.

Our teaching and learning is rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (2017), placing us among the top higher education providers nationally for teaching and learning. We’re also rated in the top 5 in the UK for postgraduate taught student experience (PTES, 2018).

Hartpury College is Ofsted Outstanding

We have 1,800 students studying A-levels and diplomas at Hartpury College, which was awarded Ofsted Outstanding in all areas in June 2018.

Our A-level offering includes English Literature, History and Maths. Our diplomas specialise in our land-based subjects, as well as outdoor adventure and uniformed public services.

We have the highest student satisfaction of all land-based further education colleges in the UK, with 83.8% student satisfaction (Department of Education survey 2017/18). 91% of our students progress into employment, further or higher education (Hartpury, 2017).

Our proud history

Hartpury was established after World War II as an agricultural education centre with only 50 students. Today, we have more than 3,500 with record numbers of students studying at both the university and the college. For more on our history, click the link
