UNIFORMED PUBLIC SERVICES
UNIFORMED PUBLIC SERVICES
Be part of an Ofsted Outstanding college and develop the skills you need to progress into the uniformed public services industry. Through our Hartpury Certificate, you’ll undertake a work placement, partake in field trips and develop as a well-rounded person alongside your studies.
Depending on your level of study, your diploma could equate to enough tariff points for university study or prepare you for a rewarding career in the uniformed public services sector.
Developing knowledge and skills
Learn about the key careers of each uniformed public service – Armed Services, Fire Service, Police and more - to help you decide what your next step will be. You’ll put theory into practice on campus and as part of field trips, developing key skills needed in your career. From teamwork and leadership to discipline and planning, and physical and mental resilience, we’ll support you to succeed.
Developing employability
As part of our unique Hartpury Certificate, you’ll undertake a work placement to gain real-world experience and connections. We have partnerships with over 2,000 employers across the UK including Gloucestershire Constabulary, the Royal Marines, and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
Developing life skills
We’ll support you to become the best version of yourself. As part of our Hartpury Certificate, our specialist lecturers and support staff will help to develop your confidence, resilience, and independence to prepare you for your next steps after college.

Iona Griffiths - BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma Uniformed Public Services
"I chose Uniformed Public Services at Hartpury because I want to become a paramedic. I believe the diploma will help me to be mentally and physically prepared for my career.
I’m about to set off on the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, Australia to China, before I start my training. I wouldn’t be able to do this without the confidence and resilience I’ve developed at Hartpury."
