Develop your knowledge and skills in the outdoor adventure industry. This one-year qualification will support the transition from GCSE-level study to a level 3 qualification, and then into employment or university.
If you have a strong interest in outdoor adventure activities, this course is ideal for you. You’ll study on a 360-hectare rural campus with world-class facilities and expertise. Hartpury’s global reputation for land-based and sports activities attracts talented athletes, coaches and industry professionals, making the campus a semi-professional learning environment.
You’ll develop practical skills in a range of outdoor activities including water sports, sailing, canoeing, climbing and hill-walking. As part of this development, you’ll have opportunities to undertake National Governing Body awards and industry-recognised qualifications to complement your CV.
We have strong partnerships with outdoor centres across Gloucestershire and further afield. Trips to these will enable you to put into practice what you learn in the classroom. A work placement will allow you to gain first-hand experience of the industry as well as invaluable networking opportunities and contacts.
A work placement during your course will enable you to gain first-hand experience of the industry as well as explore a career that is of interest to you. You’ll also benefit from industry speakers in lectures and field trips to sporting venues and events across the UK to strengthen your learning.
On successful completion of this course, you could be eligible to progress onto one of our level 3 diplomas in either Outdoor Adventure or Uniformed Public Services, followed by employment or university-level study.
