Level 3 Extended Diploma Land-Based Engineering

If you have a keen interest in and understanding of land-based industries, have a practical and enquiring mind, and want a varied working environment with current technology, then this course is ideal for you.

This two-year program of study is designed to increase knowledge and practical skills across machinery operation, workshop skills and engineering systems.

An Agricultural Engineer services, diagnoses, repairs, tests, evaluates and provides technical support for customers and operators. With technology increasing in the land-based service sector, there's a wide range of career opportunities for a skilled and versatile engineer.

What you will study

The broad topics covered on this course provide a tailored sound basis and an engaging programme of the key knowledge, and practical skills required appropriate for employment in land-based service sector.

Through industry links and a period of work placement 99% of learners make positive progression into employment or in some cases higher education.

Career opportunities

On completion of the diploma, you'll gain a nationally recognised qualification for entry and progression into and within land-based service engineering as well as allied industries. You should have a thorough understanding of your subject and be ready to progress into higher education or into employment.

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include Mathematics and English Language.
