Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Equine Management (Non-riding)

This course gives you the opportunity to gain a good grounding in key aspects of horse management and the theory of equitation, via a mixture of theory and practical units.

The theory units will ensure you have an understanding of the importance of correct horse management and how this impacts on equine performance. The practical units will teach you the skills that are required to work in an equine yard looking after a variety of horses.

You'll be involved in the daily care of the horses through yard duties to develop the practical skills necessary to gain employment within the equine industry. You'll therefore need to live in on-campus accommodation during your studies.

Our outstanding equine facilities include:

  • Four indoor arenas, including our multi-million pound Indoor Championship Arena complex with seating for 600
  • Three outdoor arenas, including a world class championship arena
  • Stabling for 230 horses
  • Equine Veterinary and Therapy Centre, including aquafit and high speed treadmills, solarium and other therapy systems
  • Cross-country courses up to FEI***
