As well as being a purpose-built teaching space for our Animal Management and Science students, the Centre features a vivarium with a wide range of reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. These include new poison dart frogs, iguanas, bearded dragons and a range of snakes, including corn snakes that we have hatched ourselves! There’s also a fully stocked aquatics room with a diverse assortment of tropical and coldwater fish, including piranha! These species provide opportunities for our students to gain handling experience as well as to learn more about animal husbandry and management, including nutrition and enrichment to improve welfare.
