Our Animal Science laboratories and Veterinary Nursing Centre have specialist equipment for teaching and research and are the hub for our students to learn more about anatomy and physiology, including dissections. The facilities in our labs include a thermal imager – to survey wildlife and assess animal welfare by measuring temperature changes and other indicators, new magnifiers and binocular and trinocular microscopes, dietcheck software to manage animal nutrition and ensure an optimal diet, a veterinary haematology analyser to provide blood profiles in a range of species and a microplate reader to detect biological, chemical and physical changes in samples.
