The range of support available to our sports academy athletes can include physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, sports psychology and nutrition and performance lifestyle advice. It’s as close as it gets to studying in a professional sport environment.
The Athlete Performance Academy is open to top sports performers. You don’t need to be studying a sports diploma to apply. Take Tokyo Olympics 2020 prospect, Mollie Courtney, for example, a Level 3 Diploma Animal Management student at Hartpury who qualified to race for the Great Britain team at the World Junior Championships in the 100 metres hurdles.
Scholarships are offered to elite players on an individual basis and are directly related to sporting and academic performance usually determined through a sporting CV and achievements prior to joining Hartpury. They will generally cover accommodation fees and/or elite sport membership costs.
These are re-assessed on an annual basis, with a review looking at academic and sporting performance as well as an individual’s disciplinary record and behaviour over the course of the 12 month period.
