Supported by two leading universities that offer veterinary medicine degrees, students who choose this programme will have an opportunity to gain work experience and access our specialist facilities, including Home Farm, the Equine Therapy Centre and the extensive animal collection.
Please note though that spaces on this programme are limited and you need to consider carefully how you will balance the additional hours of guided and independent learning around studying for your A Levels.
As part of this programme, students will:
- Gain an understanding of the role of pathogenic organisms in animal disease (guided learning hours 70).
- Introduction to Biochemistry and Biotechnology. (guided learning hours 60).
- Practical animal care (guided learning hours 50).
Why study the Certificate?
This Certificate will provide students with a basic knowledge of animal diseases and disorders and provide hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals. You will gain skills in practical handling, problem-solving, decision-making, communication and teamwork, and the ability to work under pressure as an independent learner.
