For five days each year, the Hartpury international arena is home to outstanding displays from the best in equestrian sport. The competition hosts the superstars of dressage across more than 40 dressage and para-dressage classes. In 2017, the event will run from July 5th to 9th.
Thousands of spectators are attracted to the world-class event with those unable to attend viewing the livestream. Ticket prices vary but entry is usually free from Wednesday to Friday. Under-16s and car parking are free every day. There are hospitality packages available with a champagne reception and three-course meal overlooking the arena.
The event is sponsored by big industry names such as NAF, Baileys Horse Feeds, Sovereign Horseboxes, Shadow Horse and Andrews Bowen Ltd.
In 2016, the event was used as a pre-Rio warm up for entrants attending the 2016 Olympics. Returning Olympians, Charlotte Dujardin and Carl Hester (Hartpury’s Elite Dressage Coach) were joined by fellow 2016 team GB members making their debut in Brazil; Spencer Wilton and Fiona Bigwood.
In 2016, spectators were treated to Dujardin and Valegro performing to their Rio 2016 music for the first time.
Hartpury Festival of Dressage is also a great opportunity for Hartpury’s own rising stars to gain experience of competing on the big stage in the international competition.
Praise for the Festival
“Hartpury delivered a spectacular show for Great Britain team members to practice their Rio preparations. We’re really grateful that the footing was perfect, the stabling is fantastic and the organisation and friendly atmosphere are making it one of the premier events of the country.”
Carl Hester, Team GB Olympic Champion
“We love Hartpury. We’re so lucky to have a facility like this so close by and it’s such a super show; we look forward to it every year. The people behind the scenes here are incredible and so are the facilities.”
Charlotte Dujardin, Team GB Olympic Medallist
