Alltech-Hartpury Equine Student Conference

Event Date and time:

This annual conference is aimed at Higher Education students, providing an opportunity to experience writing and submitting an abstract, going through the review and revisions process, through to delivering a theatre presentation to a full conference audience or producing a scientific poster to present.

This year the conference will be hosted as a virtual conference so we would like to encourage submissions from further afield both with and outside of the UK.

This is often a daunting experience, however, the Alltech-Hartpury Student Conference allows students to present to students, without additional intimidation from experts and supervisors. Delegates representing colleges and universities from the UK, present oral and poster presentations covering a vast range of topics.

The Alltech-Hartpury Conference especially encourages submissions in the following areas:

  • Equine behaviour and welfare
  • Equine business management
  • Breeding, genetics and stud management
  • Equine health and therapy
  • Equine nutrition and feeding
  • Rider performance
  • Equine performance

However, all topics of interest to equestrian science and industry will be considered.

Prizes provided by Alltech, our long-standing sponsor, are awarded for the best oral and poster presentations. Abstracts are welcomed from students on any higher education programme, as long as their research relates to the above criteria.

Detailed abstract guidelines, key dates and submission information are available within the document downloads on this site.

This year, to celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are holding the Conference over two days; Wednesday 30th June and Thursday 1st July 2021.

Tickets can be purchased from March 2021, via our online shop. Group discounts available on purchases of 9 or more tickets.
