Open Farm Sunday

At this free family-friendly event you'll have the opportunity to explore our farm, view a variety of farm machinery, meet our animals, and enjoy demonstrations presented by industry experts. 

We’ll be putting on a number of exciting displays and demonstrations for you to enjoy. If you're interested in farm machinery, you'll have the chance to view and ride our latest tractors and trailers. Over-25s will be able to get behind the wheel and take part in a Tractor Driving Experience.

Activities

We’ll reveal a further update of activities closer to the event but here’s what we have confirmed so far:

  • New for 2023! Learn to drive a simulated telehandler, tractor, combine harvester, or a wheel loader in our state-of-the-art new digital studio
  • Machinery displays from vintage through to modern technology
  • Animal zone including sheep shearing, cows, rabbits, tortoises, and more
  • Kids zone enjoy face painting, growing seeds, milking Daisy our model cow, a bee display, candle making, arts and crafts, and ‘Farmula 1’ pedal tractor racing
  • Food zone BBQ, picnic area, Lovington’s ice cream, biscuit decorating, and cake sales
  • Food demonstrations using produce from Hartpury’s Home Farm
  • Tractor driving a chance to get behind the wheel (aged 25+ only)
  • Tractor trailer rides explore the farm and see cows and sheep grazing
  • Chainsaw workshops and demonstrations
  • Plus, much more for the whole family to enjoy

About Open Farm Sunday

Open Farm Sunday is an event run on farms across the UK, coordinated by the Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF) charity. LEAF is dedicated to improving the agriculture industry through integrated farming. The nationwide celebration has been very successful,  attracting over half a million visitors in the past.

With each farm running a unique event with different activities, animals and displaying the various types of work they do, no two Open Farm Sundays are the same. Open Farm Sunday is supported by an impressive network of well-known sponsors including; DEFRA, John-Deere, Jordans, Farmers Weekly and many Supermarkets.
