Level 3 Assessor Qualifications
Our Level 3 Assessor qualifications are perfect for anyone wanting to progress into a career as a Qualified Assessor or Trainer. They provide a pathway for learners to gain an in-depth understanding of assessment and can lead to becoming a qualified Assessor.
On these courses, you will attend a two-day workshop to gain a detailed knowledge and understanding of assessment and then, if applicable, you will complete a portfolio of competency-based evidence of assessing in your own workplace.
To become a qualified assessor, you will need to identify at least two learners for you to work with so you can develop skills and the evidence you need for your portfolio.
You will need to be supported by an existing assessor and an individual who is responsible for Internal Quality Assurance in your organisation.
There are three awards and a certificate available at Level 3. These are: -
Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment. This is a knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising.

Internal Quality Assurance Qualifications
The Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) is one of the key drivers of quality assurance in qualifications, both within national frameworks and within each approved centre. The role, in terms of managing assessment, is key in ensuring the validity and reliability of qualifications. Therefore, internal quality assurance is a key factor in managing ‘risk’ and ensuring that when certificates are claimed for learners, the requirements of the national standards have been met in full.
The qualifications are achieved by attending a 2-day workshop to gain knowledge and understanding of internal quality assurance and if applicable, completing a portfolio of competence based evidence of internal quality assurance in your workplace. To become a qualified IQA you will need to:
Identify at least 2 Assessors for you to support, so you can develop the evidence for your portfolio.
You will need to be supported by someone responsible for Internal Quality Assurance in your organisation.
