New course: BSc Human-Animal Interaction
Explore the science behind the human-animal bond. Work with different animals. Graduate ready to make a difference in animal assisted therapy, psychology or education.
Our walled garden animal collection opened in 2013 and includes many of the 70 species we have on site. As well as being the home of our meerkats, prairie dogs and many other small animals, it features a teaching space and four fantastic aviaries. There are also wallabies, llamas, emus and rare bagot goats in our paddocks, while students also have access to the domestic species on Hartpury’s farm and to the equine facilities, including the equine therapy centre. Many students choose to focus their behavioural observations and dissertation projects on the animals and facilities on-site, supported by research-active staff.
