Riding at Hartpury
Riding at Hartpury
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ride while you’re here. You can bring your horse to Hartpury with our DIY livery on site, or ride one of our loan horses. Whether you’re a beginner or developing as an equine athlete, we have options for everything you need.
Having fun with horses
You don’t have to ride to study one of our equine degrees. However, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ride alongside your studies, if you want to.
From beginner to advanced-level, you can develop your technique through discounted our riding lessons. We have up to 60 loan horses available for recreational activities – so you don’t need to have your own horse to be able to ride. If you do decide to bring your horse to Hartpury, we have DIY livery on campus. Find out more below.
It’s the perfect way to meet like-minded friends and enjoy all things horsey outside of your lectures. You could join our Equestrian Club for regular rides around our beautiful estate with your mates, or try your hand at Polo or Polocrosse. Get along to your Freshers’ Fair and sign up for something new.
Riding for competition
If you’re looking to develop as an equestrian athlete, you might be eligible to join our Equine Academy. We’ll help you to reach your peak in competition with access to world-class coaches, specialist training support and some of the best rider performance facilities – including our Racewood Eventing Simulator, the most advanced in an education setting.
We’re always on the lookout for loan horses, subject to suitability. We’ll look after them during term time and they’ll be used for education and teaching. If you have a horse that you could loan us, get in touch at email@example.com
We have room for 230 horses on campus in our DIY livery.
Our world-class facilities include:
You’ll also have access to our excellent Equine Therapy Centre and Rider Performance Centre facilities. These include a water treadmill, high-speed treadmill, weighbridge, solarium, as well as a gym and state-of-the-art horse simulators.
