We’re a big sports campus. Whether you love playing for fun, cheering on those who do, or want to become the next big sports star, we have everything you need.

Playing for fun
Joining one of our social sports teams is a fantastic way to make new friends and keep fit, as you develop your athletic abilities and your confidence. Our Students' Union and Hartpury Active project run lots of different teams. Get along to your Freshers’ Fair in September to see what's on offer, meet the students involved, and get your name down.

Wednesdays are dedicated to sport. If you're not playing you'll want to be on the sidelines, cheering our teams to victory in the BUCS league. It's a fantastic atmosphere.

Join our gym
Our gym is open for everyone to join. If you love working out, getting those endorphins pumping, and feeling energised, we have some great fitness facilities for you.

Paying for membership
Make sure you pay for your Sports Academy / gym membership prior to your enrolment.

Here are the costs for 2021:

  • Gym membership - £120 for the year
  • Sports Academy membership (including the gym) - £260 for the year

Our Sports Academies

If you want to play sport at an elite level, you'll want to join one of our Sports Academies. We’ll nurture your talent and help you to perform to your very best. You’ll benefit from expert coaching, specialist training that fits around your studies, and links to national sports clubs and organisations.

We offer:

  • Men’s football
  • Women’s football
  • Men’s rugby
  • Women’s rugby
  • Equine
  • Rowing
  • Golf
  • Netball
  • Athlete performance – we'll support you in a range of disciplines not covered by our current academies i.e. athletics, tennis, track and field, and weightlifting.

The best facilities
You’ll have access to world-class sports technology in our brand new Sports Academy building. Perfect your performance or rehabilitate student athletes using our anti-gravity treadmill, altitude chamber, bespoke biomechanics lab complete with force plates, high-tech motion capture cameras and high-resolution digital mirrors for body mapping.

Our double sports hall is kitted out with cameras, great for post-match analysis.

How to register your interest
If you haven’t already, fill in our 'Interested in Sport' form below. Once you’ve submitted your interest, the relevant academy manager for your sport will be in touch to discuss your next steps. You may be invited to attend an assessment day.

Get your kit
If you’re part of a Sports Academy, you’ll need to wear Hartpury kit. You’ll find out more when you get here, but if you need any more information right now then contact your academy manager. It will cost between £60 and £150 depending on your sport.

If you play sports for fun you won’t need to buy any special kit, but you might like to get some of our Hartpury-branded sportswear to train in.
