Funding your studies

Studying for a degree at Hartpury is a great investment for your future. It’s really important for you to have a plan on how you'll finance your studies, to ensure you have sufficient money for living costs including transport, accommodation, meals and other expenses.

Tuition fees, loans, and grants

Your tuition fee loan covers the cost of your studies. You can apply via Student Finance England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland from March/April 2024. Your maintenance loan/grant covers living costs such as accommodation and food. You may also be eligible to apply for a grant, which doesn't need to be paid back.

You'll get a real taste of your course as you attend a subject session with your future lecturers, and explore our beautiful campus and world-class facilities.

Funding your studies

You’ll also need to budget to ensure you have sufficient money for living costs including transport, accommodation, meals, and other expenses while you study.

We'll be in touch to share all the ways we can support you to fund your studies, from scholarships and bursaries (that don't need to be paid back), to cost-saving initiatives on campus, tips on budgeting, and advice on working part-time alongside your studies.

Attend your Applicant Event 

9 March or 20 April 2024

Make sure you attend your Applicant Event, if you can. It's a great way to get a taste of life on your course and decide if we're the right place for you. Take part in subject sessions with your future lecturers and classmates and get to know our campus. 

You'll also be able to visit our accommodation so you'll be ready to make your decision in March. We'll be running regular tours to our Blackfriars accommodation right next door to Gloucester Quays, giving you the buzz of city living.

If you’re an international student, the best place to go for up-to-date information is the student funding bodies in your own country. It’s very likely that the timings and deadlines on loan and scholarship applications will differ from UK student loans, so make sure you make a note of these in your calendar. If you need further information or advice, our International team is always on-hand to support you.

International students | Apply for your Student visa 

If you're not a British or Irish citizen, it's very likely you'll require a visa to study in the UK. You can start applying for your Student visa, six months before your start date at Hartpury in September 2024.

This will give you plenty of time to get your visa approved, providing you meet the eligibility criteria. Our International team are visa experts and will be hosting a virtual webinar in March to talk you through the visa application process.

Find out about job opportunities 

Many of our students choose to work part-time alongside their studies.

There are plenty of job opportunities on our campus, as well as a multitude of opportunities ranging from hospitality to retail and events in nearby Gloucester and the Quays.

On site, you could join our marketing team as a Student Ambassador, work in Graze restaurant, The Feed Room equine eatery or Legends bar, or become a Residential Support or Equine Academy assistant.

Our Students' Union advertise paid and voluntary roles via their website and social media channels.

Make your firm choice

6 June 2024: UCAS deadline

You must make your firm choice in UCAS (if you received all of your decisions by 16 May 2024) by this date. But you don’t have to wait. If you already know we’re the right choice, you can make us your firm choice now. If you do, providing you meet any offer requirements, you’ll have a guaranteed place at Hartpury in September.

Your Enrolment Guide will arrive in June via post and email. Packed with important information about coming to Hartpury, it includes everything from enrolment and moving-in dates to kit and book lists, packing lists, and what to expect during your Welcome and Freshers’ Week*.

Arriving with Your Enrolment Guide, your bespoke Passport to Hartpury will include information about traveling to the UK. It contains advice on booking flights, what to bring, arriving at Hartpury, settling in, and more.

Your induction video

Your Programme Manager will share key details about the first week of your course and what to expect in their welcome video to you. 

 

Enrolment details

We'll send your your Welcome Week timetable with full details about your course-related activities. We'll also provide details moving in, and what to pack; from daily essentials to a kettle for your room to keep you going while studying.

Welcome and Freshers' Week information will be added onto your hub too, so you can get prepared for a great week.

A-level results day

15 August 2024

If you're taking exams, good luck! This is when you'll get your A-level, BTEC, or City and Guilds results. 

Please note: International Baccalaureate results will be released on 5 July 2024 and SQA results will be released on 6 August 2024.

We hope your hard work pays off and you get the grades you want. To congratulate you on meeting your offer requirements and enrolling with us, we’ll send you a little something in the post.

Everything you need to know

Going to university is a very exciting time, but we know it can be a little bit daunting too. We’ll send you all the information you need about joining the #HartpuryFamily in advance, including final enrolment details, fun Freshers' events, and the support in place to help you settle in*.

So all you need to focus on is getting involved, making friends, and most importantly, having fun.

Your enrolment

We can’t wait to welcome you onto campus for your enrolment*.

We’ll send you more details in June 2024, including Your Enrolment Guide and Passport to Hartpury (international students only). These will include details about your enrolment, how to prepare, kit and recommended reading lists, international arrivals and orientation, and moving into Hartpury accommodation. 

We’ll add these details to your Coming to Hartpury hub too, along with your welcome video from your Programme Manager (coming in July 2024), and the date, time, and location of your first session. You'll have everything you need all in one place.

In September, we'll be in touch with details about completing your online enrolment and setting up your Hartpury account. This will give you early access to library resources and ensure a smooth enrolment when you arrive on site.

We'll also send you an enrolment email with final details, so you feel well-prepared to join us for your first week.
