Your student life

#ComingToHartpury2022

You'll have the best of rural and urban life at Hartpury. Our beautiful country campus offers acres of green space and tranquillity, but hop on a bus and you're in the bustling city centre of Gloucester within 15 minutes.

While you're on site, you'll have all the great facilities you need. In between lectures, you'll find our students grabbing coffee in Red & Black café or stopping for a bite to eat in Graze restaurant. In fact, we're excited to be launching a brand new Graze development for 2022, packed with delicious food and drink outlets and spaces to socialise.

Come nightfall, our Students' Union bar, Legends, is the place to be. With pool tables, televisions, and events throughout the year, it's your space to relax after a busy day of lectures.

When you're not busy enjoying everything Hartpury has to offer, take some time to explore your new home. From Hartpury lake to the landscaped gardens behind Hartpury House, pick your favourite hangout spot.

Students in Gloucester Quays

Urban life

For shopping, eating and drinking, and trips to the cinema, vibrant Gloucester and Cheltenham are just a short bus ride away.

Gloucester Quays is your go-to place for outlet shopping, dinner with friends, and a night at the cinema. If you fancy exploring boutique and high street stores, you'll love a trip to nearby Cheltenham. Finish off a day of shopping with refreshments in one of Montpellier's trendy bars or coffee shops.

If you're into your sports, you'll be spoilt for choice in Gloucestershire. From horse racing at Cheltenham Racecourse and football at Cheltenham Town to rugby at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester, we've got it all.

Country life in Gloucestershire

Country living

For fresh air and outdoor adventures, you couldn't have chosen a better location.

At Hartpury, you'll be surrounded by beautiful Cotswold countryside and close to the Forest of Dean.

Take your pick from daring outdoor pursuits - mountainboarding, kayaking or white water rafting, anyone? - peaceful country walks, and bike rides.

Getting around

Regular buses between our campus and Gloucester means that you’re able to pop into town whenever you like. Hop on a Swanbrook public bus, Monday to Friday during term time, and you'll be in Gloucester in just 15 minutes and Cheltenham, in 30 minutes. View their timetable on the Swanbrook website. Alternatively, you can jump into an Andy Cars taxi and get a discounted student rate of around £13  for a four-seater cab - that's just £3.25 each for you and three mates. Great for a night out or a day trip into town.

Get your permit to park on campus

If you’re planning to bring your car with you, you’ll buy and display a parking permit.

You can opt for free parking at our lower Equine Centre (on site) or pay £60-£100 per year, depending on where you want to park.

You can buy yours from our online shop now to collect during your first week at Hartpury.
