As a talented modern pentathlete you’ll have the chance to study at one of the UK’s most successful sport education providers. Hartpury has an outstanding track record of developing athletes, as one of Pentathlon GB’s leading modern pentathlon academies.

We’ll help you balance your studies and your sporting commitments. You’ll develop by training in a high performance environment, coached by Pentathlon GB Pathway Coach Robert Flack. Benefit from extensive facilities including an outdoor laser run range and world-class equestrian facilities with expert sport science support from, strength and conditioning, sport psychologists, physiotherapists and nutritional experts. We also have extensive links with the Pentathlon GB Pathway Programme.

We design your timetable with you in mind, meaning you'll get the best from your qualification and your training. As well as weekly sessions from dedicated coaches, you’ll have opportunities to compete at your level of university sport and be supported at national competitions.

Many of our students have won team and individual titles at the highest college and national junior levels. They have also gone onto the National Training Centre in Bath, where the Olympic Podium Programme athletes train.

Improve your performance with access to our specialist facilities on-site. A new sports hall, as well as our dedicated equine centre and a outdoor laser run range are the perfect place to hone your skills. Access to a swimming pool for training is at GL1 leisure centre in nearby Gloucester.

You’ll also benefit from access to our performance services. Strength and conditioning coaches, physiotherapists, and nutritionists to lifestyle management and game analysis will keep you performing at your peak.

Our Sports Academy facilities give you access to treatment suites, as well as human performance and biomechanics labs.

Our students go on to change the lives of professional athletes, as well as the people involved in community and school sports. They also graduate with valuable skills to succeed in a range of different careers.

We're home to top-level coaches, sport and exercise scientists, nutritionists, conditioners, medics and athletes, across 10 Sports Academy programmes, as well as our student-led rugby team, Hartpury University RFC. Our Sports Academies have produced over 200 international sports stars over recent years.
