Acorns narrowly defeated in Bristol

Hartpury FC fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Bristol Manor Farm at The Creek on Tuesday night in the Southern League Div One South.

It was a brisk start to proceedings as Manor Farm took the lead on nine minutes when Nathan Goodwin-Worrell headed home from a corner.

Very little happened following the opening goal, with the Acorns seeing their best chance of the half fall to Billy Osborn on 40 minutes.

Osborn got the better of his man, drove down on goal, unleashed a driven effort which was superbly blocked, seeing the Manor Farm lead into the break.

HALF TIME- BRISTOL MANOR FARM 1-0 HARTPURY FC

Manor Farm almost doubled their lead on 48 minutes when a well struck free-kick cannoned back off the bar.

Farm troubled the Acorns again on 62 minutes when Joshua Salmon attempted to bend an effort goal bound, but Seth Locke matched the chance with a fantastic stretching save.

Louis Manning tried his best to get the Acorns level on 69 minutes when, after cutting inside, tried to reverse his shot into the near post but it was well held by the goalkeeper.

Farm had a late attempt to double their lead, but Nathan Jenkins was on hand to make a superb block on the line to deny a headed effort from a corner, on 88 minutes.

The Acorns return home on Saturday, looking to put this result right, when we take on Swindon Supermarine.
