Hartpury FC dug in to secure a third straight win beating Bideford AFC 2-1 at The Sports Ground on Saturday.
Louis Manning’s driven strike and an own goal, either side of half time, earned the Acorns another three points in the Southern League Div One South.
The Acorns had the first chance of the game when Noah Coates sent a looping header just over the Bideford bar.
But our hosts drew first blood on 13 minutes when Finn Roberts lashed home from close range.
Seth Locke kept the Acorns in the game on 24 minutes when he produced an incredible reaction stop to deny Jamie Hearsey.
Sol Kent then needed to throw himself brilliantly in front of Hearsay effort, from close range, on 35 minutes to keep the score at 1-0.
But Manning had other ideas on 44 minutes, when he was fed neatly into the area by Coates before beating his man and firing his effort past the Bideford goalkeeper, Leo McCormick.
HALF TIME- BIDEFORD AFC 1-1 HARTPURY FC
The Acorns made the perfect start to the second period when Manning’s low cross was turned past their keeper by an outstretched Bideford foot, on 52 minutes.
Jenkins saw an effort whistle just wide on 60 minutes from distance before rattling the post from 20-yards on 78 minutes.
The Acorns were put under pressure towards the end of the game, but Bideford were unable to trouble the goal seeing us pick up our first away win this October.
The Acorns will look to make it four wins in a row when we welcome Didcot Town to the 4ED Hartpury Stadium on Tuesday night.
