The final month of the Southern League Div One South season was a tough one for the Acorns but gave the side an essential learning curve.
The Acorns picked up four points in their final two games of the season, after suffering four straight defeats prior.
It’s now time to reflect on the final month to see what unfolded for the Acorns.
THE NUMBERS
Games: 6 | Won: 1 | Drew: 1 | Lost: 4 | Points: 4/18 | Position: 7th | Scored: 3 |

A TESTING EASTER
The busy Easter weekend saw the Acorns hit a setback in their fight for the play-offs, starting with a late 1-0 defeat to Bideford AFC on Good Friday.
Archie Reay’s long ranged effort stole at least a point from the Acorns, who headed to play-off rivals, Bishops Cleeve on Easter Monday, hoping to keep their chances alive.
Riley McGregor’s spot kick, three minutes after a Cleeve opener, saw the Acorns head into the break level in Cheltenham.
But a second half red card on Louis Manning saw a major shift in momentum, as two quickfire goals saw Cleeve run out 3-1 winners.
HITTING A DROUGHT
The Acorns played out back-to-back home games next, in search of a response and some much needed points in the hunt for the play-offs.
But the dip in form at Easter continued as successive 1-0 defeats to relegation threatened Melksham Town and Mousehole saw the gap to the play-offs frow to big.
FINDING FORM LATE ON
The Acorns’ final away game took them to an already relegated Tavistock AFC, which entered half time goalless after a much improved performance.
Half time substitute Louis Manning made a crucial impact in the second half picking up a goal and assist for Billy Osborn’s opening strike, to secure a 2-1 victory.
And that would turn out to be the Acorns final three points of the season, as a goalless draw against Bashley on the final day awaited the Acorns, despite a dominant performance.
Despite how the season ended, the Acorns made a mark in their debut season at Step Four and will look to build on this incredible season in 2026/27.
