Hartpury FC played out a goalless draw with already relegated Bashley, bringing down the curtains on their debut Southern League Div One South campaign, at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium on Saturday.
The Acorns started the brightest and tested the target on four minutes, but Nathan Jenkins saw his effort from 18-yards fly wide of the mark.
Bashley tested their luck through Luke Holmes, but his effort on the turn faced the same fate from just inside the area on eight minutes.
Louis Manning let fly from distance on 15 minutes, but his effort flew over after some impeccable build-up play by the Acorns.
The Acorns went the closest in the game on 24 minutes when Vanylson Silva’s volleyed effort, from close range, was beaten away by Stags goalkeeper Oscar Glover.
Josh Roney headed over from a corner on 31 minutes, moments before Seth Locke was called upon to produce a one-on-one save to deny Bashley’s Beau Jenkins.
Silva went close again on 37 minutes when he headed over from a Manning cross, before Noah Coates saw a close ranged header saved by Glover, a minute later taking the game deadlocked into the break.
HALF TIME – HARTPURY FC 0-0 BASHLEY
Coates had a brilliant opportunity to open the score, on 48 minutes, when he was played through by Drew Robinson before being denied one-on-one by Glover.
Manning struck a low effort towards the front post, after cutting inside off the left, only for the shot to strike the side netting on 50 minutes.
Glover was in fine form for the Stags, beating away another Silva effort from 18-yards on 58 minutes before getting down smartly to brilliantly save a driven Riley McGregor volley, on 61 minutes.
Joe Freak tried his luck for Bashley from distance, on 69 minutes, but the effort was just too high to trouble Locke, in the Acorns goal.
But that was all she wrote in this goalless final game of the campaign with the Acorns sharing the points with Bashley, ending their debut season at Step Four in seventh.
The Acorns will now take a well-earned rest before preparations begin for the 2026/27 Southern League Div One South campaign.
