Hartpury FC returned to winning ways defeating Tavistock AFC 2-1 at Langsford Park, on Saturday.
Second half goals from Billy Osborn and Louis Manning secured the Acorns first three points of April, in our final Southern League Div One South away game of the season.
The Acorns got away with an early scare when Noah Coates hooked a Tavistock corner off the line, inside the opening two minutes.
Tavistock had the best opening chance on nine minutes when Joshua Baxter’s backheeled effort deflected wide of the post.
The post denied the Acorns an opener when Riley McGregor struck the woodwork from 20-yards with a low driven effort, on 11 minutes.
It was all Hartpury from that point on when Osborn saw a close ranged effort smothered by Lambs’ goalkeeper, Tom Watson, on 18 minutes before the keeper got down low to deny Renato Prifti, two minutes later.
Vanylson Silva saw a dipping free-kick saved by Watson on 35 minutes.
The Acorns almost snatched the lead on the brink of half time, when Drew Robinson’s flashed volley was deflected just past the post.

It didn’t take long for the Acorns to break the deadlock when, on 52 minutes, Osborn flicked a Manning cross into the far corner.
McGregor tried another low drive effort from range, but saw it yet again denied by Waston on 73 minutes.
Silva glanced a Jesse Aldridge free-kick inches wide on 81 minutes, coming close to doubling the Acorns tally.
But the lead was doubled on 87 minutes when Manning cut inside off the left, before rifling the ball into the far right corner.
Thomas Chatsey tested Seth Locke in the 92nd minute with a swivelling driven effort, which was well held by the Acorns shot stopper.
And just three minutes later, Tavistock got one back through Elis Aldrich, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Acorns taking all three points back to Gloucestershire.
The Acorns return to the 4ED Hartpury Stadium next Saturday, as we welcome Bashley for the final game of the season.
