Team Vs Inkberrow

Hartpury go five unbeaten following Inkberrow victory

An electric start saw Hartpury FC record three straight wins defeating Sporting Club Inkberrow 3-1 at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Nathan Jenkins, Billy Osborn and Louis Manning saw the Acorns grow a comfortable before Jay Higgins-Pugsley got one back for the visitors in our Southern League Div One South clash.

It’s an incredible start from the Acorns who found themselves two goals ahead inside 5 minutes when Jenkins picked out the bottom corner on four minutes before Osborn neatly rolled home from close range less than a minute later. Jenkins and Vanylson Silva almost made it three on seven minutes, but both saw efforts blocked on the goal line. Inkberrow grew into the half and almost found a way back in to the game through Nathan Benson, but his driven effort rattled the crossbar.

Manning made it three on 20 minutes when Osborn picked him out the area to rifle his effort into an empty net.George Sims had a glimpse at goal when he met a deep Jesse Aldridge cross, but his header went inches wide on 33 minutes.

HALF TIME- HARTPURY FC 3-0 SC INKBERROW

The second period took some time to get going with Inkberrow seeing the best chances early on but had attempts superbly blocked by Jenkins and saved by Ryan Smallwood inside the hour mark. The visitors did manage to get one back on 67 minutes when Higgins-Pugsley calmly placed the ball into the bottom corner from close range. Smallwood was called into action on 75 minutes getting down well to stop a sweeping strike by Leo Brown. The Acorns had their first attempt of the second period on 85 minutes when Akai Bonnick danced past a few Inkberrow players before pulling back a cross towards Shyamapant, but his effort was too high. That wasn’t a problem as the Acorns saw out their third straight victory and remained unbeaten at home in the league.

The Acorns return to action next Saturday as we welcome Portishead Town for our first ever FA Trophy Second Qualifying round tie.
