Hartpury produce gr-eight performance against Willand to go three games unbeaten

Hartpury FC made it three games unbeaten in the Southern League Div One South demolishing Willand Rovers 8-0 at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium on Saturday.

A Billy Osborn hat-trick plus goals from Renato Prifti, Vanylson Silva, Akai Bonnick, Jesse Aldridge and Tomos Shyamapant secured a dominant three points for the Acorns.

The Acorns produced a fast inside the opening forcing Willand goalkeeper Andrew Sowden-Bird into save following a Nathan Jenkins deflected effort.

That early pressure saw the Acorns break the deadlock on six minutes when Jenkins fed Prifti into the area before composing himself to find the bottom corner.

It quickly became two-nil four minutes later when Akai Bonnick’s initial strike was parried right onto Osborn’s head where he made no mistakes finding an empty net.

This opened the flood gates in the first half as on 20 minutes Osborn netted his second of the afternoon poking home a low Riley McGregor effort.

Silva made it four-nil with a driven effort into the bottom corner on 31 minutes before straight from the restart, Bonnick rounded the goalkeeper and from an extremely tight angle found the back of the net for the Acorns fifth of the half.

Aldridge rounded off the first half scoring in additional time picking out the bottom corner from 18-yards.

HALF TIME- HARTPURY FC 6-0 WILLAND ROVERS

There was no let-up in the second half as just 30 seconds into the half Osborn secured his hat-trick hammering high into the net from close range after Bonnick saw yet another effort parried into the captain’s path.

Willand managed to grow slowly into the half and tried their luck through Ashton Hewitt whose effort landed on the roof of the net from 20-yards on 59 minutes.

Prifti hunted for his second of the afternoon but could only see an audacious effort dip just over the bar on 64 minutes.

The Acorns made sure of a first clean sheet this season with some resolute defending on 82 minutes as Sam Kelly, Leon Machisa and Renato Prifti put their bodies on the line to bloke Willand’s efforts.

But the Devon All-Whites growth was diminished in the second minute of additional time when Shyamapant finished a deadly counter attack to round off the scoring for the afternoon.

The Acorns are back in action next Saturday as we make our FA Trophy debut when we travel to Didcot Town.
