Before the Acorns set off on the road for the majority of October, we kick start the month with a home match-up against Barnstaple Town on Saturday.
The Acorns will be wanting to return to winning ways following successive defeats in the Southern League Div One South and will also be looking to continue our unbeaten streak at the KMM Energy Stadium.
Ahead of Barnstaple’s trip to the KMM, here is everything you need to know about the North Devon outfit.
THE OPPOSITION – BARNSTAPLE TOWN

RETURNING TO THE LEVEL
Barnstaple returned to the Div One South after a four year stay away, following their Western League Premier title win in the 2025/26 season.
But it’s been a slow start to proceedings for Barum who gave picked up just two league wins from their opening nine games.
Those wins came in the form of 4-0 win over Worcester Raiders and a 4-1 victory Melksham Town.
Barum head to Gloucestershire off the back a goalless draw with Bristol Manor Farm and successive defeats at home to Swindon Supermarine and Hungerford Town.
Away from home this season, Barnstaple have won just two of their seven games in all competitions.
IN THE DUGOUT – BEN POTTER
Ben Potter was recognised at the Western Premier’s Manager of the Season after leading the Barum to the league title and victory in the Les Phillips Cup.
Potter also guided Barnstaple on a memorable FA Vase run during the 2025/26 season where they reached the quarter-finals, bowing out to eventual winners AFC Stoneham.
PLAYER TO WATCH – TOMMY RODGERS
Tommy Rodgers has been ever present for Barum this season playing out 893 minutes and being a part of every game this campaign so far.
During those minutes, Rodgers has become the level top scorer for the club in the league netting twice this campaign.
