Match Preview- Bishops Cleeve (A)

It’s the Acorns penultimate away day of the season, as we take a short trip to Bishops Cleeve on Easter Monday.

The Acorns will be looking to bounce back from Friday’s defeat to Bideford AFC, knowing a win could keep our play-off hopes alive for another game.

Ahead of trip into Cheltenham, here is everything you need to know about the Mitres

LAST TIME OUT

The Acorns ended 2025 with a resounding 3-0 victory over the Mitres, to complete an unbeaten December.

Noah Coates, Spencer Hamilton and Louis Manning all found themselves on the scoresheet in a fantastic display from the Acorns.

Seth Locke rounded off the display with a second half penalty save to make sure of the clean sheet.

WHAT’S HAPPENED SO FAR THIS SEASON?

After suffering a dip in form during the beginning of March, the Mitres have picked up the pace of the race for the play-offs.

Just one defeat in their last five games has seen Cleeve leap into the play-offs and hold a two point gap on chasers Shaftesbury.

This game will see Cleeve play-out their final home game of the season but their form at Kayte Lane has taken a turn for the worse, being winless there in their last three games.

IN THE DUGOUT- PAUL COLLICUTT

Paul Collicutt is enjoying his second spell at Bishops Cleeve after originally taking the helm in 1999 following stints as assistant manager at Forest Green Rovers, Evesham United and Gloucester City.

After leaving Cleeve, Collicutt went back to manage Evesham United before becoming Head of Football Operations at Stratford Town in 2019.

Collicutt made the return to Kayte Lane in 202o and has since helped the Mitres to promotion from the Hellenic League Premier Division to a now, a play-off fighting Southern League Div One South side.

PLAYER TO WATCH- NOAH RUBIO

Noah Rubio is no stranger to the Southern League Div One South, having featured for Sporting Club Inkberrow for the first part of the season.

Rubio joined from Rugby Town in February and has since netted himself three goals in his first eight games for the club.
