Match Preview- Brixham AFC (A)

A 276-mile round trip awaits the Acorns on Saturday as we travel to Brixham AFC, in search of a sixth straight victory.

The Acorns head to Devon off the back of five wins in a row and seven games unbeaten, following a 1-0 victory over Westbury United last time out.

Ahead of our trip to Brixham, here is everything you need to know about our opposition.

THE OPPOSITION – BRIXHAM AFC

STADIUM – MoreSeaFood Ground

NICKNAME – The Fishermen

FOUNDED – 2012

MANAGER – Jason Couch

LEAGUE POSITION – 20th

LAST FIVE – W-D-L-L-W

LAST TIME OUT

It was a clinical day in front of goal for the Acorns who put seven past a travelling Brixham back in November, at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium.

Louis Manning grabbed himself a hat-trick alongside a Tomos Shyamapant brace, whilst Renato Prifti and Vanylson Silva helped themselves to goals in a 7-1 victory.

WHAT’S HAPPENED SINCE?

After what has been a tough transition to Step 4 for the Fishermen, recent form has seen them close the gap on safety to just six points following after two wins and a draw, in their last five games.

Despite their mini-bus breaking down on route to Swindon Supermarine, last time out, and not getting the game started until late into the evening, the Fishermen came home 2-1 winners thanks to second half goals from Callum Rose and Kieran Parkin.

The Fishermen have started to pick up some home form as of late, being unbeaten in their last two games at the MoreSeaFood Ground.

PLAYER TO WATCH – JAMES MOXON

Despite being heavily beaten by Malvern Town at the end of January, James Moxon grabbed himself a brace on the day.

These were his first goals in over five months for the Fishermen, with his last coming against Tavistock AFC back in August, where Moxon netted four times in a 4-1 win.
