Match Preview- Shaftesbury AFC (A)

Hartpury FC will be hoping to end January positively as the Acorns travel to play-off chasing Shaftesbury AFC on Saturday.

The Acorns head to Dorset looking to extend their current unbeaten run to five games and make it three straight wins, following Tuesday night’s triumph over Didcot Town.

Ahead of the Acorns trip to Cockrams, here is everything you need to know about the Rockies.

The Acorns met the Rockies just over a fortnight ago in a six-goal thriller at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium.

The Rockies stormed into a 2-0 lead before quickfire goals from Louis Manning and Nathan Jenkins got the Acorns level.

A late first half penalty regained the Rockies lead but a dominant second half from the Acorns saw Noah Coates secure a point in a 3-3 draw.

WHAT’S HAPPENED SO FAR THIS SEASON?

The Rockies have proved to be true promotion contenders and are in the form of their lives, suffering just one defeat in their last 15 games.

Shaftesbury have been unfortunate with postponements in recent weeks, having only played once since our last meeting.

Another thriller followed ours as the Rockies edged out Melksham Town in a 5-4 victory thanks to two late goals from Jack Hoey and Lewis Brown.

Goals are a given in a game against Shaftesbury with 24 goals coming in their last four games, an average of six goals a game.

PLAYER TO WATCH- HARVEY BRADBURY

Harvey Bradbury was a thorn in the Acorns side when the Rockies visited Gloucestershire with the striker netting twice in the first half.
